Photo Gallery Globe of the Continents The Globe of the Continents helps children learn to recognize and name the continents. The globe sits at a 23 degree angle, the same as the earth’s axis in relation to the sun. World Puzzle MapThrough sensorial activities with the Puzzle Maps, the children begin to build their knowledge of world geography. The puzzle maps are color coded to correlate with the globe. Continent Box A first introduction to animal species from each of the 7 continents. Through working with the Continent Box, children are inspired to work with the World Puzzle Map. Teen Frame and Teen BoardThe Teen Frame and the Teen Board allow children to explore the numbers 10-19. Bead quantities are created from the 10 bars and colored bead stair. Individual Reading Material Designed for reading practice, this material contains wooden cards with illustrations of simple objects that correspond with labels to read and match. The material is designed to be self-correcting. Be Kind In the Montessori classroom community, lessons of grace and courtesy are modeled. It’s an overarching message of gratitude, giving, and peace. Metal Insets Dr. Montessori analyzed the movements that are connected with writing and developed the Metal Insets to directly prepare children for handwriting. The Metal Insets are designed in geometric shapes. Biology Puzzles A series of wooden Biology and Animal puzzles illustrate the component parts of a plant, a tree, a flower, a leaf, or different vertebrate groups. Practical Life Dressing Frames Through activities with the Dressing Frames, children develop coordination, the ability to concentrate, and skills of independence. Color Tablets and Cylinder Blocks The Color Tablets introduce children to colors and their names. The Cylinder Blocks introduce children to the first stage of visual discrimination of size. The cylinders progress in height and diameter from small to large. Land and Water FormsThe Land and Water Form trays help children recognize and name different land formations and bodies of water, such as Island, Lake, Gulf, Peninsula, Strait, and Isthmus. Language Board and Math BoardThe Insta-Learn Language and Math Boards are self-paced and facilitate learning by providing children the opportunity for self-correction. Montessori Pink Language Series The Montessori Pink Language Series is part of an extensive reading program. The Peace Rose The Peace Rose demonstrates to children how to use a “peace rose” as a way to share feelings and resolve conflicts peacefully. Short Bead Chain The Short Bead Chains prepare children for multiplication as they ‘skip-count’ the beads. RecessThe children enjoy a time of recess after lunch.
